Travelling Babyboomers and their pictures

DREAMS COME TRUE ... PLEASE COME AND SHARE!

Louis Pominville

Please come and share your travel with your pet ... and pictures are always good!

I invite all of you who have pets, and have travelled, to let us know your experience.

I remember my daughter moving out west in Medicine Hat, Alberta. She flew over with her 3 boys and a dozen of fish (aquarium fish), as she accepted a position as a teacher at the Medicine Hat College, teaching braille, and sign language.

Anyway, they had a pail, plastic bags, a spare pump which they would plug in the airport terminal; apparently it was quite an ordeal, but they managed to keep all the fish alive.

Hope to hear your story soon,
louisp

Good morning :-))
I imagine that travelling with tropical fish is more of an ordeal than one might have thought! (A daughter teaching braille and sign language is something very special.)
I have only travelled with four-legged companions of the canine ilk (well, alright, one was three-legged due to an accident). The funniest experience was taking a bus from Santa Cruz in Tenerife down to the airport in the south, to pick up my ex son-in-law. My husband took my car to work and was to meet up with us for lunch before returning home. Anyway, my daughter (who was convalescing with us in the Canaries), myself and Toffee - a stone-deaf pooch - made our way to the bus station only to discover that dogs were not allowed (and I know many dogs who are far better behaved than some humans). Fortunately, I was carrying a faitly large soft bag that contained casual clothing for my husband to change into so we stuck Toffee, who was still a young pup, into the bag and closed the zipper so that only his nose was peeking out then boldly boarded the bus. We giggled throughout the forty minute trip but made it without being discovered :-))
Toffee, along with his sisters Trufa (of the three legs) and Noire (his ears), stayed in Tenerife when my husband's cancer forced us to return to mainland Spain. That was three years ago and I still miss them desperately. I now have Pepa, a white Schnauzer my children gave me for Christmas the year my husband died. It is the first time I have had a dog that was not picked out of a shelter and, although I was quite cross at the time, I now love her dearly. It is amazing how our pets impact our lives.
